About BLUNO

Chigasaki and West Tanzawa, Kanagawa.
We make small leather goods in our two ateliers.

Vegetable-tanned leather and tin we cast ourselves.
Honoring the character of each material,
we make pieces to use for years, one at a time.

01 Leather & tin

Different materials,
one form.

Italian vegetable-tanned leather that grows more lustrous with use. Individually cast tin that holds a soft glow.

Choosing the leather, making the tin molds, stitching, and finishing. At Bluno, making begins with getting to know our materials.

02 About the maker

The maker’s hands,
at every stage.

After working at a financial institution and an IT company, I became a leather craftsman. I approach my work with a love for the beauty created when leather and tin, two different materials, come together.

05 Our atelier

By the sea,
in the mountains.

Two places, each with its own rhythm.
We renovated old buildings ourselves and made them places to create.

Chigasaki

Bluno Shonan Chigasaki

An atelier a few minutes’ walk from the sea, in a vacant house about 60 years old that we renovated ourselves. The ground floor is a showroom, and the second floor is our workshop space.
