Leather and tin

Different materials,
one form.

Leather that grows more lustrous with use,
and tin that holds a soft glow.
Honoring the character of these two materials,
we make pieces to use for years.

About our leather

Colorful vegetable-tanned leather wallets arranged on a white stand
Shades of color, creases, and the individual character of each piece of leather.

In everyday life,
leather becomes your own.

Bluno mainly uses vegetable-tanned leather made by Virgilio Conceria Artigiana, a long-established tannery in Tuscany, Italy.

This traditional method slowly tans leather with natural tannins obtained from trees and other plants. It preserves the leather’s natural fibers and creates a firm, substantial texture.

The more it is used, the softer and more familiar it becomes, developing a beautiful luster. Through everyday life, it gradually grows into leather that is yours alone.

No two pieces
are the same.

Individual creases and variations in color are part of the charm of natural leather. As the years pass, you grow more attached to it. We hope you will enjoy those changes for a long time.

About our tin

Wallets in soft light, with tin shining against blue and brown leather
A soft, understated glow that harmonizes with leather.

The shape we want,
made with our own hands.

The tin parts used in Bluno leather goods are not ready-made. We cast each one ourselves.

Drawn to the metal-casting traditions of Toyama Prefecture, we began casting with the thought, “If the shape we want doesn’t exist, let’s make it ourselves.”

From mold-making to casting and finishing, we carry out every stage ourselves, creating a character that harmonizes with leather and is distinctly Bluno.

Finishing

Tin has long been used for drinking vessels and tableware. With use, its surface gradually develops depth and, like leather, changes its character over time.

With time

Completed through everyday life.

For both leather and tin, the moment of completion is not the finish line.
They gradually develop through everyday life, taking on a character unique to their owner. That time is an important part of Bluno’s craftsmanship, too.
